Chairman Message for MNSC e-Directory
Dato' Nathan K. Suppiah
Chairman
Malaysian National Shippers' Council (MNSC)
The global trade and logistics landscape continues to evolve amidst growing geopolitical uncertainty,
shifting trade policies and increasing supply chain complexities. Geopolitical developments, including
conflicts in key regions, continue to place significant pressure on international trade, resulting in shipping
disruptions, higher freight costs, increased insurance premiums and longer transit times. These developments
have had far-reaching implications for businesses worldwide, particularly manufacturers and exporters that
rely on efficient and reliable logistics networks.
For Malaysian shippers, the challenges extend beyond transportation. Delays in the movement of raw materials
and finished goods have disrupted production schedules, increased inventory costs, affected customer
commitments and placed additional pressure on business competitiveness. At the same time, rising logistics
costs, regulatory changes and evolving sustainability expectations continue to reshape the operating
environment, making supply chain resilience more important than ever.
Against this backdrop, the Malaysian National Shippers' Council (MNSC) remains steadfast in its commitment to
protecting and advancing the interests of Malaysian shippers. Through continuous engagement with government
agencies and industry stakeholders, MNSC advocates policies and initiatives that strengthen Malaysia's
logistics ecosystem and enhance the country's position as a competitive regional trading and transhipment hub.
As the voice of Malaysian shippers, MNSC remains committed to providing timely industry insights and fostering
stronger collaboration among shippers, logistics service providers and government agencies. In support of this
commitment, the MNSC e-Directory: Shippers' Guide to Logistics and Related Service Providers in Malaysia serves as
a valuable platform connecting businesses with a comprehensive network of logistics and related service providers
while enhancing industry visibility and business connectivity.
As we celebrate more than five decades of serving the Malaysian shipping and logistics community, MNSC remains
dedicated to championing policies that strengthen trade facilitation, improve logistics efficiency and enhance the
competitiveness of Malaysian businesses. We will continue to work closely with our members, government agencies and
industry partners to address emerging challenges, seize new opportunities and build a more resilient, innovative and
sustainable logistics ecosystem.
On behalf of MNSC, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our members, industry partners and stakeholders
for their continued trust, support and collaboration. Together, we can navigate today's challenges and strengthen
Malaysia's position as a leading trading nation.
Thank you.
